Class Description:

In January of 2009 I became the first resident of Western New York to be certified by the UT Bureau of Criminal Identification as a Concealed Firearm Instructor. From that time forward I began to learn what my students needs were in regard to carry permits for out-of-state concealed carry.  In time I created a specialized training class to fulfill FL & AZ training requirements.

Most people are interested in obtaining a Florida concealed carry permit and get the Arizona carry permit as a back-up option.  Florida law requires the instructor teach the safety course and have the applicant demonstrate competence with a firearm via live fire on the range in the prescence of that same instructor.  This single training event fulfills all training requirements for both FL & AZ issuing agencies.

This is a dual certification class for a single low price.

Upon completing this FL & AZ Pistol Permit Class you will have met all necessary requirements and will be able to apply for both State's carry permits with confidence.

The class is oriented on lawful concealed carry of the defensive handgun. It is a very well prepared course and contains a host of useful information including topics such as:

  1. Operational safety of the defensive handgun.
  2. Features and selection of tactical handguns.
  3. Defensive handgun ammunition selection and justification.
  4. Failure to fire / “immediate action” drills
  5. Draw stroke and shooting stances for defensive encounters
  6. Effective concealed carry techniques.
  7. Holster selection.
  8. Safe storage options.

Live fire requirement for Florida : It is MANDATORY!

Florida law currently requires that all applicants demonstrate an ability to “safely handle and discharge a firearm in the presence of the instructor.” This means that you have to actually complete live-fire with a firearm firing the same kind of ammunition you would use for hunting or self-defense.
Instructors who issue any document claiming proficiency has been demonstrated without the student actually shooting a firearm in the presence of that instructor has violated FL law requiring live-fire. This fact has been confirmed by the Bureau Chief of the Division of License Issuance for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The classes I teach provide this legally required range element at each class. You will not be told that you have to take another class just to receive your certificate of live-fire!

Considering the various liabilities we face as legally armed private citizens, the issues covered in class are significant for those who wish to carry a concealed handgun effectively and legally.

SPECIAL NOTE:

“Know before you go!”

Remember that laws constantly change. It is your responsibility to keep up with changes in Federal, State and Local law.
